[ARCHIVE] 27.-29. Sep 2019 - Bioinformatics for RADseq data
A joint workshop by three labs within Taxon-omics, our RADseq workshop is organised by professors Elvira Hoerandl (University of Göttingen), Miguel Vences (Technische Universität Braunschweig), and Natalyia Rybalka (University of Göttingen). Attendance by SPP 1991 lab members will be supported from our umbrella project funding. The goal of the workshop will be hands-on work on the analysis of RADseq data.
RAD (Restriction-site Associated DNA) Sequencing is a method for sampling the genomes of multiple individuals in a population using next generation DNA sequencing. It was invented by Eric Johnson of the University of Oregon in 2007, and has since become an important tool in collections-based systematics and evolutionary biology.
Registration is now closed. Please send last minute requests to Claudia Pätzold (claudia.paetzold@uni-goettingen.de).
Program
Organizers: Elvira Hörandl (University of Göttingen), Miguel Vences (Technische Universität Braunschweig), Natalyia Rybalka (University of Göttingen)
Accomodations: Ten rooms have been reserved at B&B Hotel Göttingen-City (hotelbb.de/de/goettingen-city, €60/night without breakfast)
Instructors: Claudia Pätzold, Kevin Karbstein, Natascha Wagner, Loïs Rancilhac
Location: PC-Pool Georg-Elias-Müller-Institut für Psychologie, Heinrich-Düker-Weg 12, 37073 Göttingen, Erdgeschoss, Raum 0.481
Topic: The focus will be on downstream analyses for species delimitation, detecting hybridization, dealing with polyploidy, and using RAD data. Participants should be familiar with basics of NGS and assembly of RAD data. Block sessions will provide introductions and time for hands-on analysis of data on HPC clusters (Göttingen).
